San Diego, California, June 1, 2011; Mind Treasures is pleased to announce a new partnership with Operation HOPE, Inc. and its FIVE MILLION KIDS (5MK) Initiative to provide financial literacy classes for children, youth, adults, and families. Mind Treasures – through its Neighborhood Financial Literacy (NFL) program – made a pledge to 5MK to educate youth and adults in financial literacy, open savings accounts for youth and adults, and mobilize volunteers to teach financial literacy in the San Diego community in the low to moderate-income neighborhoods. The NFL initiative provides hand
s-on financial literacy workshops as after-hour enrichment programs at public schools, community centers, and churches.
“Mind Treasures is committed to provide essential financial education to empower children, youth, adults, and families,” said Alex Mazloom, cofounder and executive director of Mind Treasures. “We are honored to be part of 5MK initiative and bring this education to the masses. We can help the public develop their hidden potentials and learn a new system that will enable them to establish a connection between their virtues and wealth; and make better financial and life decisions in an effort to build stronger families, communities, and neighborhoods.”
“Operation HOPE believes that by teaching financial literacy, we are able to tangibly empower individuals with practical skills, and furthering the Silver Rights Movement,” said Operation HOPE Senior Vice President and Global Director of Field Operations Kevin W. Fleming. “Thanks to organizations like Mind Treasures, we are able to involve more communities in our mission.”
