La Mesa-Spring Valley School District approves Mind Treasures programs

SAN DIEGO, November 14, 2008
– Mind Treasures in collaboration with Murdock Elementary School in La Mesa will be offering Financial Literacy After School Programs starting February 2009.
“The courses featured in the Murdock After School Clubs will promote strong foundations in the children’s education and experience. Mind Treasures will help enhance Murdock’s regular curriculum, offering students to learn about money and finances in a fun learning environment,” said Annette Nenn, Coordinator of After School Clubs at Murdock Elementary School.
“We are honored that the La Mesa/Spring Valley School District has approved our program. Current economic and financial challenges are a testimonial to a growing need for specific education to help families take proactive actions,” said Alex Mazloom, Executive Director and Founder of Mind Treasures.
Mind Treasures’ curriculum is approved by the California Department of Education. The courses will provide a much needed and essential financial education through human character development. Through its programs, the participants will learn to understand, apply and build a solid foundati
on in saving, investing, spending and sharing. The course will emphasize traits such as patience, responsibility, moderation and generosity and will provide key learnings to prepare the children for their financial and philanthropic responsibilities.
